Ashland Money & Metals is primarily a rare coin and precious metals
dealership located in Ashland Oregon just off Interstate 5 near the California
border. I'm Mike Drager, the owner, and I do have an actual storefront
in downtown Ashland at 369 East Main.
Rare coin specialties include silver dollars, attractively toned coins
and nicer high end AU coins of all denominations. I also trade in high
grade certified material and bullion related gold, silver and platinum
coins. Other sidelines are Australian opals, Tahitian Black pearls, Hawaiian
Heirloom custom jewelry, antique musical instruments, motorcycle related
collectibles and small antiques.
I am a member of ANA, PNNA and HSNA. I am also an NGC Member-dealer
for certified coins. I have over 50 years experience as a collector and
trader in numismatic material. In my entertainer years, it was my sideline.
Check my reputation through ANA or Ebay Auction feedback.
This website will offer my current coin inventory, supplies, precious
metals, aforementioned jewelry, small antiques, etc. and whatever else
comes my way. Low end, damaged, or common inexpensive material will not
be offered here unless specified. I move that out very cheaply. Material
will range from extensive network and am able to locate nearly all customer
"want list" material.
I have a low overhead and consequently am a very high buyer and will
travel to view, appraise and possibly buy coins and collections depending
on what is involved. All queries are welcome and I can be reached
at my email address:

Some of you will immediately recognize the photo of us onstage in the Jolly
Roger Crow's Nest in Waikiki, Hawaii. We went by the name, Blue Kangaroo, of
course, and enjoyed the hell out of a 21+ year run in the Crow's Nest alone. We
(Mike Drager and Jay Cook) started out in the California Bay Area in 1964 in a
place in Oakland called the Grand Prix. With the Prix as headquarters, we
played around San Franciso, Berkeley, San, Jose, etc. as a trio and quartet
called the Firelight Singers. In 1965 we headed down to Australia and formed a
trio called The Family Dog with our Aussie mate, Mike Smith. With the military
snapping at our ass, we came back to the states in 1967 to end up in Waikiki in
1968 as the Irish Kangaroo, Green Kangaroo and finally, the Blue Kangaroo. We
played as a duo full time for 26 years in Hawaii, starting off in the Schooner,
then Davy Jones Locker in the Outrigger, our own club in Kaimuki, and finally
the Crow's Nest, with a few other less significant gigs in between.
We retired in 1994 after 30+ years in show biz. All the old clubs are gone,
now, including the Crow's Nest which lost it's lease in 1994 as we retired.
Needless to say, we had a hell of time doing our brand of comedy and acoustic
music and had a great following from all over the world.
We've had a lot of old fans and friends tells us that there would be some
interest in old Blue Kangaroo recordings and some of the crazy merchandise we
put out in those years. Enduring a brutal learning curve for old farts like us,
we decided join the cyberworld and offer a taste of the old days to anyone
interested. We're going to start by offering a few of our most popular
recordings and T-shirts, and add more slowly to the site as interest is
generated. The old albums will be offered on CD or cassette tape and the
T-shirts, caps, etc. will be pretty much the same. By now some of you have worn
out our old stuff and need to show your kids what you were up to when you were
a lot younger. WARNING! Our recordings are really politically incorrect by
today's standards, and almost everything we did was off-color or insulting...or
both.
We would both like to hear from old friends and fans even if there's no
interest in the silly shit we put out. Email us. Mike Drager in Oregon-
ashmoney@mind.net or Jay Cook in Hawaii- jaylcook41@aol.com.
